    3 cups finely shredded carrots
    1 cup cooking oil
    4 eggs

3. Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35 minutes for round pans or 35 to 40 minutes for 13x9-inch pan or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Cool layer cakes on wire racks for 10 minutes. DIY Recipe Binder

Ohhh the recipes I've collected over the past few years...out.of.control! I finally decided the magazine tear-outs, online print outs, and recipe cards shoved in my existing recipe books were just getting unmanageable. I grabbed an old binder and created my very own recipe binder; Organized and accessible. Just my style! prudentbaby blog had the greatest idea and I modeled my binder off of hers. Using a binder, clear sleeves, file folders, and my trusty label maker, I was able to make a personalized recipe book! I love the fact that I could create my own categories and be more specific than a typical recipe book.
Categorized by importance, obviously.

File folders create a cute and sturdy divider.

Finally, everything in one place!

Salty Sweet Treat

I was browsing Pinterest for a great dessert for a BBQ. I needed something quick, easy, and that could hold up in the heat. These "Buckeye" bites were the perfect solution! Nothing fulfills my salty sweet cravings like the combination of pretzels, peanut butter, and chocolate! Thanks sweetpeaskitchen.com  for this tasty treat!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • Pretzels
  • 1 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
Directions:

  1. Line a baking sheet with wax paper and set aside.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat peanut butter and butter until combined. Scrape down bowl, add sugars and beat until combined. You should be able to roll the mixture into balls without sticking to your hands. If needed, add more powdered sugar until you reach a consistency that is easy to roll.
  3. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 teaspoon of mixture for each ball, and place on prepared baking sheet. Sandwich the balls between two pretzels and place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a metal bowl over a pan of lightly simmering water. Stir occasionally until smooth, and remove from heat. Dip each pretzel bite halfway into the melted chocolate and place on the prepared baking sheet or drizzle with chocolate. Chill in refrigerator until chocolate is set.

Water Stains Be Gone!!

There's hope! The stains can and will be removed!
I have a love/hate relationship with my fabulous stainless steal appliances. They look beautiful, but the fingerprints and water stains drive me crazy! I'm constantly wiping them down with cleaner (Sprayway is my personal favorite) and trying to be extra cautious when using them.
Great cleaner for a quick wipe down.

After only a year, a huge water stain developed outside of the water/ice maker in the front door of the refrigerator. NOOOO! How could this be? Sprayway is great for every day polishing and cleaning, but it didn't remove the deep stain caused from dripping water. I enlisted in Bar Keepers Friend and it did not disappoint! Stain be gone!! My new cleaning routine involves weekly wipe downs with Sprayway and once monthly Bar Keepers Friend deep scrubbing to keep my appliances looking good as new!

Homemade Pizza

There's nothing better than a homemade pizza! This recipe is enough for two 12 inch pizzas. Enjoy!

Homemade Pizza Crust

Recipe from The Pioneer Woman

1 t yeast
1 1/2 C warm water
4 C flour
1 t salt
1/3 C olive oil

1. Sprinkle yeast over the top of your warm water.
2. Combine the flour and salt in the bottom of your mixer.
3. Pour the olive oil in and mix just just until combined.
4. Pour the yeast and water mixture into the flour.
5. Mix just until combined.
6. Cover and set aside. Let it rise until double in size or you can put it in the fridge and let it rise throughout the day.
 7. Punch the dough down and divide it in half. Roll out dough with roller to desired size. Be warned, this dough rises significantly when baking, so what starts out as a 7 inch pizza changes to a much larger size.

Homemade Red Sauce

Recipe from jamiecooksitup.blogspot.com

1  -14.5 oz can Italian Stewed Tomatoes
1 small can tomato paste
1 t sugar
1 t dried oregano
1 t dried basil
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t salt
1/2 t lemon juice
pinch red pepper flakes

1. Combine all ingredients and wisk until blended.
 2. Spread it onto your pizza dough...top with your favorite toppings, some mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
3. Bake your pizza at 475 degrees for about 15 minutes. No need to bake on cookie sheet or foil- place pizza directly on oven by itself and enjoy!

Silver Cleaning Recipe

I was so sad when I noticed that my silver Tiffany's necklace was starting to tarnish! It was the first present my husband gave to me when we started dating, and I just had to bring it back to life! To clean it, I used a recipe from Real Simple and I couldn't have asked for better results!

Poor little tarnished necklace.

Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup baking soda
-3 teaspoons salt
-1 cup boiling water

Directions:
1. Cover a bowl with foil.
2. Pour in all ingredients and mix until dissolved.
3. Place silver in bowl and cover. (I used a pot cover.)
4. Once cover is cool, remove silver and wipe dry.
